The journey can be taken entirely on paved roads.

Elko too is a gateway to extremely beautiful country. He encourages everyone to take a day trip to see and photograph the Rudy Mountains. The journey could be to Lamoille Canyon or Angel Lake or combine them to circumvent the Ruby Mountains. Take YOUR journey soon.

The Exhibition of "Reno to the Black Rock" will be shown at the Northeastern Nevada Museum, in the Halleck Bar Gallery, from August 25th to December 10th 2023.

Max

My good friend and companion, Max, passed away on October 26th, 2013.  Max, a Tibetan Terrier, was born in Woodland, California on October 30, 2000.  He was raised from a puppy and every day of his life was a day of joy for us.  His full name was Cavu’s Maxmillian Miyano, but Max, Maxman and often Maxboy were the only ones ever heard.  He participated in most of my landscape photography trips including my last one to Arizona and Utah.   I have rarely been in one of my own photographs but Max was in several.   He appears in Max at White Pocket, which was shown at the Maryland Federation of Art this year at their American Landscapes event.

July 15, 2012: Canvas 20x30 inch Prints with Gallery Wrapped Frames

Canvas 20x30 inch Prints with Gallery Wrapped Frames

You are probably familiar with the gallery wrapped, canvas print of the running of horses that I made in 2011. I can now print 20x30 inch canvas prints on my Epson 7890 and gallery wrap using 1.25 or 1.75 inch frames. These look terrific without a traditional surrounding frame but many people like to add them anyway because they like them. Don’t hesitate to ask me about availability of this size for any of my images.

I like to visit Yosemite often in the fall and winter months and usually schedule my trips to coincide with inclement weather. That means snow, of course. I never did get significant snow, but did manage a lot of rain. I spent the time instead photographing details of objects in lieu of landscapes. Included are images called Pohono Bridge and Ice Medallion.

I have photographed Bodie several times and hoped to produce something different on this trip. I have thirteen images in a collection I call “Iron and Steel of Bodie”. I think they are unique but some might think me nuts.
