Forest Floor, Washington Coast

The image was taken while staying at a hotel on the Washington coastline. I saw a wooded area across the road and spent a couple of hours trying to capture the mood of this location. It seemed the floor of the forest was thriving on the vegetation that had fallen years earlier. The image sat in my files for several months before I began to appreciate what I saw in the woods.
