Afternoon Repose, San Francisco Zoo, California

This young gorilla joined an adult for a nap on a large group of rocks, about one o’clock in the afternoon.  Yes, the finger is in the mouth similar to a young child sucking their thumb.  The youngster is looking at the adult and I am safely separated by sixty or more feet from both animals.  I am shooting over the adults shoulder giving the appearance of direct eye contact.
