Among Giants, Yosemite National Park

My 2013 Christmas card featured this image with the following prose.

 A tree dappled with fresh snow endures another winter. 

Shadowed by the giants and lit by a faint sun, it persists

in a small clearing yet another year, a fallen limb at its base
