Forty Mile Desert, Nevada

This is a panoramic combination of five images from a viewpoint in the Hot Springs Mountains slightly northeast of Fernley Nevada.  On the left side is the Trinity Range where highway 80 heads to Utah across Nevada.  In roughly the center you see the Mopung Hills with the Humboldt Sink between them.  To the right side of the image is the Carson Sink.  This was one of the emigrant trail routes that was so feared by the early pioneers.
